Missha Pure Source Aloe Sheet Mask

Hey dolls! Today’s mask is from Missha, a very popular Korean brand. One of my favorite masks evar are from Missha, so it boggles the mind why the fuck I never bothered to try this one before now XD Missha is best known for their First Time Essence (I have yet to try it XD) which has been called Holy Grail by many a AB enthusiast.

It’s the mask so nice, I bought it twice! /sarcasm I got one in my May Mask Maven pouch, and before that I bought a pack of three on eBay for $4.14. So I had four of these suckers just laying around!

Seriously though…idk why it took so long to try it XD

Beauteque Mask Maven: May Pouch Unboxing

(Warning: picture heavy post…)

Hello dolls!

Today I am showing off sharing my first ever Beauteque Mask Maven subscription pouch! :DDD

I had never been really interested in the beauty box subscription craze before, but the thought of getting random sheet masks I might never have bought or heard of otherwise delivered every month seemed like a great idea. Plus, I call myself a sheet mask maven, so it’s just fitting, no? 😉

The Mask Maven is a subscription service that sends 9 – 11 masks each month. It’s $15 a month plus shipping, You can get a recurring subscription, in addition to buying individual monthly pouches. They say you will receive all kinds of masks including sheet masks, hand and feet masks, hair masks, wash-off masks and more. I can’t say I’m too excited about anything other that face masks/wash off masks, but from what I could see from people who’ve received MM pouches in the past, it’s more sheet masks than anything else (plus, why not try some new stuff besides sheet masks??). Please note that since I exclusively review sheet masks on this blog, there will only be brief details on the masks received. More in depth reviews will follow in the weeks to come (so many masks, so little time…:P)

I got a three month subscription… I’ll decide after that if I want to continue with it or not. I put it in (heh) right before the cut off date for the May box. It arrived quickly after they shipped it (since they shipped from NJ, I got it Friday wooo!) and I am quite excited to show you what’s inside!

I got a total of 9 products: a mask pack, a wash off mask, a set of hand masks, and 6 sheet masks.

SO let’s get to it!

The monthly pouch came via First Class mail. It was packaged in a pink (squeeee!!) organza bag with a cute piece of paper with a quote and a brief note about how to use all the products included–nice touch.

So what’s inside you say???

My new prettiesssss :DDD

Here are all the included contents:

First up is this little guy from It’s Skin, the Todak Todak Nutrition pack. Seems promising. Not sure if I will review it here, as it’s not a sheet mask… but then again, who knows….

Next up is a sheet mask from Han Aka, the Whiteness+ Cherry Blossom mask. It features tranexamic acid (?). I love anything cherry blossom, so this mask is on the top of my list to try! 😀

Next up is a mask from My Beauty Diary, the Apple Polyphenol mask. I have tried a couple of MBD masks and I rather like them (I bought a whole box of the Royal Jelly variety. I love it!!) so I was pleased to see this. From doing research on the Green Tea mask, I learned that polyphenol is grrreat for troubled skin, so I look forward to trying this one 😀

Next is a wash-off mask from Etude House, Scrub Massage Yogurt, I love this company’s packaging (and their collagen Moistfull sleeping pack!!) so I look forward to trying this.

Next is a sheet mask from Humanpia Costech, the (I think?) Daylight and Hue Tomato essence mask. I swear I’d have had a whole salad on my fucking face by the time I go through all the masks I have XD No joke though: tomatoes are great for you: inside and out. I would have never though to buy a tomato mask, so I am really intrigued by this one.

Next is a sheet mask from Etude House, a plain ol’ Honey mask. Don’t let my blase tone fool you: I love honey masks (see three paragraphs ago lol). Like I said before, I really like the products from this company I’ve tried so far, so yay! Not a high priority to try right away though.

Next is a hand mask pair from Nature Republic, the Shea Butter Hand and Nature Moisture Hand Mask. I’ve always wanted to try some of their stuff, but I will admit I am a little apprehensive to try this, I have huge hands… store bought ladies’ gloves never fit me right so I can only imagine what sort of (tiny) hands these were made for >_<

Lana is one of my many spirit animals XD

Anyway, I will do a review of this soon, so look out for it 😉

Next is a sheet mask from Leaders Stepsolution, the Pore-Scaling Black Aqua mask. I’ve never heard of this brand, but I am pretty eager to try it! Huge pores are one of the things I struggle with on my face :/

Last but not least is a sheet mask from Missha, the Pure Source Aloe…. I already had three of these masks in stock (remember my super awesome haul post? LOL I keep bringing it up…), so this was the only kind of bummer for me… Don’t get me wrong, I don’t really mind per se (I suppose this is bound to happen, what with the amount of masks I hoard own) as I really like aloe sheet masks. I actually used it last night; I stuck it in the fridge for an hour and after I finished my Epic Zit Battle, I put that sucker on. ZOMG, after burning off my face the Noxema salicylic acid pads, this shit felt AMAZING! Why did no one tell me that putting sheet masks in the fridge was such a great idea????I’ll use one again and give you a full review another time 😉

All in all, I am rather pleased with this month’s selection. There were some brands I like, some I wanted to try, and some I didn’t know. I look forward to trying and reviewing my new pretties! 😀

ETA: I am finally on Reddit and /r/asianbeauty! I will start posting on there soon (my username is deelishdiscord of course) 😀

I also got my MaskGenie May pouch in yesterday, so look for that unboxing tomorrow! xoxox

MOTD: Missha Gourmet Honey Butter

Hello lovelies!

Today’s mask is from Missha, which is based in Korea. The German version of the site (they don’t have it on the US site, for whatever reason) says the following about the mask:

This pack helps to promote a beautiful and glowing complexion with nutrients delivered from honey and gourmet butter. For those who wants to deliver radiance to the skin by providing nutrients and also wants to take a good care of skin by enjoying a sweet fragrance! MISSHAGourmet Honey Butter Sheet Mask- the tasty side of skin care.

So does it deliver on these promises?? Can’t say for sure, but…before I go any further, lemme just say…

O. M. G. This mask is fucking amazeballs! ♥ ♥ ♥

This was part of my super awesome haul post so I’m not going into price and where I bought it (you can read about the price and where I got it from here). I’m glad I got the multi pack, because this mask is (wait for it…) like buttah (said with a NYC accent alá Mike Myers in Coffee Talk on SNL) XD

But I’m getting ahead of myself, as usual.

The featured ingredients in this mask aren’t out of the ordinary. People have been using honey for both medicinal and cosmetic applications for millenia, and the same can be said for milk and all its various children (yogurt, butter, cream, buttermilk, etc). I think the name just sounds fancy for no good reason (how do I know it’s really French butter??!?), but I’m a sucker for such hyperbolic copy, so it’s A-OK to me 😛

So anyway, on to the review!

Here’s the packaging:
It has usage instructions in English, so yay for that!
Here’s a close-up of the English part of the package.

Mask details: I’m not exactly sure what the mask is made out of, but it’s really thin and totally soaked in essence—with just enough left in the package to rub on my neck and boobs! I love that. The mask being thin wasn’t a big deal, but if you have large hands like me, you will have to fiddle a bit to get it open without tearing it (luckily I didn’t). It doesn’t smell like milk or honey really, but it does have a nice sweet, almost creamy smell, so there’s that.

Mask fit: I’ve yet to come across a mask that fits perfectly, but this one fits better than expected:

See how thin it is??

It covered my whole face (including all of my cheeks all the way to my ears! Squeeee)! Not only does it fit well, it stayed on my face even while laughing, drinking, and sitting up. Very impressive.

First impression: I put it on and it felt AMAZING. Like I said above, it was well soaked, and I guess it being thin helped adhere it better to my face. I kept it on for 45 minutes. Even with the AC on, it didn’t dry out. I kept stroking the mask while it was on my face…. felt so nice 😀 My face was nice and plump after I took it off… usually it takes a few minutes for the essence from a mask to settle in enough to continue the rest of my routine, but after 10 minutes, my face was still plump and moist *snerk* so I did my eye cream, sealer (snail gel!!) and also some Baviphat lemon whitening sleeping pack (I just got it in and wanted to try it..).

Final thoughts: When I woke up today, my face felt amazing! I don’t know if it was the mask or the sleeping pack, but my face not only felt soft and smooth, but had a definite glow to it. My face was still moist too! I will have to try the mask again w/o the sleeping pack to know for sure if it had a definitive effect (but I’m sure they both worked in tandem). Would I buy this mask again? FUCK YES. I have four left. I was planning to give some away, but I think this one belongs on the hoard pile 😀

Now the only question is… which mask will I use tonight?? Stay tuned!

Mask Mail #1 AKA Super Awesome Sheet Mask Haul

Hey, I’m still alive 😛

I went away for about a week, and I was so busy I didn’t get a chance to blog! Gah! I still wanna stick with this though…so here I am 🙂

When I discovered sheet masks a few weeks ago, I went batshit crazy nuts ordering masks and other cool Korean skincare goodies, so I ordered a bunch of stuff and packages have been pouring in! You know it’s bad when the mail person knows who you are, even though you’ve only been living at your current address for less than 6 months XD

This is a super awesome haul post: I got four (!!) hauls to share with you…. would have been nicer as individual posts but *shrug* I got two in today, one was waiting for me when I got back home, and the last was acquired whilst away.

Anyway, on to the goodies!

Haul #1 TonyMoly and The Face Shop

I took this while waiting for guests to arrive at my friend’s surprise party :3

I actually got these in person! It was my best friend’s birthday, so I took her to Koreatown in NYC and we had a fabulous lunch, then of course we had to hit up two of the most well known Korean skincare vendors :3 From  TM I got three masks, snail moisture gel (ZOMG amayyyyyzing!!!), a lip mask, and a gold black sugar scrub (looove this!!!! It has flakes of real gold in it!!). I got 8 masks from The Face Shop. I have to say, both shops are tiny as FUCK. My fat ass could barely turn around in TM XD So far, I’ve used one of the TM masks (Mung bean; pretty interesting, Made my face tingle… I kept it on anyway [lol] and [luckily] it didn’t cause any irritation or breakout. It left my skin feeling tighter and smoother the next day!), one of TFS’s masks (pearl; it was meh. It was like a heavy paper that didn’t seem to have a lot of essence soaked in …dried pretty fast too) and I gave one to my bestie’s ma 🙂

Haul #2: Malie Masks

You can buy them here, though it seems like this seller raised their prices. Bummer. You can find a better deal from another seller though 😛

I got these from eBay Seller konanshop. It was $20.40 (w/ free shipping :P) for 38 masks + 4 nose strips!!!

These masks are such a great fucking deal. It works out to be ~$0.54 a piece, even less if we factor in the nose strips (but they were a free gift! XD) Not only that, the seller shipped the day after I paid and I got it two days before the ETA. Awesomeness. I’ve used one of these so far: Pomegranate. It smelled like real pomegranates, and it made my face feel pretty great 😀

Haul #3: Missha and TonyMoly

Isn’t that sheep mask pkg the cutest ever??? D’aww.

I got these from eBay seller iamlove-shop. The Missha Gourmet Honey Butter masks (5) were $6.98 (so a “splurge” for me lol) and the TonyMoly Year of the Sheep mask was (wait for it…) $3.98 with “free shipping” (with prices like these, the shipping is definitely built in. I found these masks cheaper on TesterKorea [and even the TM shop in NYC had the sheep mask for $3.60! Fuck me.] oh well). On the up side, they sent me a nice amount of samples! 😀

I just got these in today, so I haven’t had a chance to use them. Stay tuned for these mask reviews coming soon!

Haul #4 Missha and Mizon

I fucking love the pkging of the Mizon masks… just cracks me up… Kylie Jenner, anyone? XD

I got these from eBay seller ideaseller_kr. The Missha Aloe masks were $4.14 for a set of three and the Mizon No.1 Moist King’s Berry Masks were $9.99 for a set of 7. Not too shabby price wise (I think….). I also just got these in today, so you’ll see the reviews for these eventually. I got other things with the masks:

This is the rest of the stuff I bought from this seller… just showing off, really. Too lazy to list all the things XD
These are all the samples I got from this order. I hit the sample jackpot!!!! 😀

So there goes my super awesome haul post…. It took me awhile to reorganize my medicine cabinet, and I think my mask collection is about to outgrow its current home (aka a Ukala boot box XD)

I think I will try the Missha Honey Butter mask tonight. I can’t wait! 😀

Til then xoxox
