Cupcake Change Purse

I am just obsessed with cupcakes this week, apparently XD

While working on the project bag, I had the idea to make a tiny version of the project bag as a change purse–it came out just the way I wanted it to! The sequins took about two hours to sew on (longer than the time it took to make the actual bag…go figure)… but totally worth it.

I’m making some more for sale in my shop ❀

Here are some more pictures:

You can see the iridescence of the sequins in this pic πŸ˜€
I have about a lb of change in here… handles it like a champ!
I got my labels a while back… thisΒ isΒ the first item to have one ❀

It’s highly unlikely I’ll be releasing a pattern for this because I don’t really feel like it atm.

Haven’t you guys gotten enough cupcake shit from me??!?? πŸ˜›

Super Awesome Netbook Sleeve

This was a quick crochet; the only problem I had with it was it was a bit awkward to hold while working on it, and my ring kept getting caught in it πŸ˜›

If anyone is interested, I’m going to make another one and take notes so I can post a pattern for it. It’s seamless… crocheted in one piece with only minimal weaving of ends required. I’m too lazy to make something and have to sew it up afterwards πŸ˜‰

The few notebook sleeves I’ve seen on Ravelry are either knitted, or seamed (if crocheted) πŸ˜›

My decision to use Red Heart worked out wonderfully… it’s sturdy, but has a bit of give (as I made the sleeve slightly smaller than the netbook) and it cushions nicely.

I’m thinking about making some to sell in the shop… I think they’ll sell well (har har)

WIP it Good!

I’ve been a busy bee!

Updates on Wisp:

Wisp in Progress

I'm getting there...

Wisp in Progress

Slowly yet surely.

I’ve gotten up to the first knit panel! (gee, I only have like 15 panels to go :/) I’ve made this my main travel project, as I am just about done with the socks… which still need to be finished. I am so close, I can almost taste it—-

Sock in progress

So close!

I just have like one more row of the cuff to do, and then the heel πŸ™‚ I’ll try to finish it tonight, but I prolly won’t get to it until tomorrow, as I have a BBQ to go to later πŸ˜€

I didn’t bring Wisp with me today. Why? Well, I’m glad you asked πŸ˜‰

I just got a netbook this weekend (squee!) I got this one:

It was on sale at PC Richards for $289… good deal, and I really needed it so there went about half my paycheck :3

I needed a sleeve for my new baby, but (broke as I now am) wasn’t gonna spend $15-25 on one.

So I decided to crochet one πŸ™‚

Super Awesome Netbook Sleeve

Squee! Isn't it looking swell?

I’m a genius, what can I say?

I started it like I would a crocheted sock… but this time, I measured the short side, and chained 1/2- 1″ less than the length, then increased it until it was the length needed (I wanted a nice, rounded end). I chose to use Red Heart, as I needed a good, sturdy yarn that would cushion… the colorway (lipstick) is coming out in this amazing stripey pooling effect… I couldn’t have planned it better myself. People talk shit about variegated yarns and their pooling effects, but they have been nothing but good to me. This reminds me of when I made the Vertigo Hat… the colors pooled to make stripes! ❀

I’ve brought it along to work on…. I started it at 12:30 this morning, and I’m about halfway done now. Should take 2-3 hrs in total, tops.

I may make some to sell in the shop… I was thinking about making some with fabric linings and foam inserts for extra protection… Guess we’ll see.

More pictures when finished… which will more than likely be tonight.

Progress! (I Think?)

I finished sock #1!

As usual, I strayed away from the pattern I was working on and made something new…. it came out awesomely, and it’s extremely comfortable, so I’m happy πŸ™‚

I was too lazy to take pictures of it last night, so I’ll take a picture later and post it tomorrow πŸ˜›

Busting my ass to open the shop… I have made enough stitch markers to last a lifetime, it seems… not even done yet. I have another shipment of charms coming in any day now, and I still have loads of earrings to make. I won’t have everything ready by this weekend, I realize that. I’ll just have to post what I have at that point in time, which is already quite a bit. Some things (like some of my hats, and my scarf) won’t be put up until at least August, as it’s… well… it’s pretty fucking cold in NYC right now… I dunno.

I actually have to sit down and make an inventory list and fogure out witty descriptions, take pictures….

*headdesk* >__<

After this weekend…I have to start making something for my birthday swap. I also have a make-up swap package to finish this week (as my swapee’s package got lost in the mail :/), and then get the items for my Odd Duck Swap together…. has to be mailed by the 31st. Meaning I can get the items next paycheck and still have ’em out in time πŸ™‚

Time is mine enemy.

I don’t feel like doing work today… I’m tired. I didn’t do anything productive (biz-wise) yesterday; I was hanging out with my friend Doug at his studio… didn’t get home until almost 1am πŸ˜›

That means: double time tonight. I want to get as much done as I can… but I have two and a half days off next week (Jewish Holiday :D) so I can make some more hats one day, and finish making earrings the other. I reckon I’ll rest the half day, as I’ve had little time to myself lately.

I can haz Wisp now? Soon, soon my dear… But then I’ll need a travel project. I’m using my 13″ needles for this one. I think. I’m conflicted. I’ll cast on my 8″ and see how it fits. I really, really wanna start another shawl!! Grrr.

Addiction? But it’s better than crack …yes.

Just saying…
